The route starts at Serravalle, the last hamlet in Alto Monferrato before the Scrivia torrent.
From Serravalle Scrivia, take the provincial road SP 143 to cross the Scrivia torrent. This will take you to Stazzano, from here continue to Sardigliano. Go through the village and carry on to Sant' Agata Fossili. This villages takes its name from the many fossils found in the surrounding area, which was at the bottom of the sea millions of years ago. Head towards Villarvernia but before you get there, turn right towards Carezzano. After Coppi Pass, you will reach Castellania. The native home of the Coppi brothers is here in the village. as well as a museum packed with memorabilia relating to the cycling champions and the mausoleum where the brothers are buried, which draws sports enthusiasts the world over. After your visit, head back to the Coppi Pass and continue to Costa Vescovato, then Avolasca. After Avolasca, head down to Val Grue. Go back up the torrent to Garbagna, which is reached shortly after and is famous for its cherries. From Garbagna climb to a short connecting tunnel to Val Borbera. Head down into the valley, passing through Borghetto di Borbera and Vignole Borbera. Shortly thereafter you will be back in Serravalle Scrivia.
