Start in the village of Treville in the car park with a panoramic view and a fountain where you can fill your water bottles. Ride to the Church of Sant'Ambrogio, the highest point in the village, which is worth a visit and has a free telescope for admiring the landscape. On a clear day from this ledge overlooking Monferrato, you can enjoy a view of Monte Rosa, Monviso, and the wide, flat rice fields of Vercelli.
Once you've taken in the view, head off again leaving the village in the direction of Cella Monte, where you will begin the climb until you reach the turn for the B&B Savoia bed & breakfast. The tarmac runs out after the residential area and a challenging, steep, downhill track begins. Turn right at the end onto a dirt road until you reach the Cascina Valpane farmhouse. Take the track on the right-hand side of the road that skirts a vineyard and comes out onto tarmac. Carry on to Sala Monferrato. Carrying on in the direction of Ottiglio, you'll want to take a break after the cemetery on the Big Bench with its panoramic view. From here, take the dirt road again. When you reach the tarmac again, turn left in the direction of Cereseto, which you will recognise by its fairy-tale castle. You can't miss the chance for a break here either. Behind the castle is the church of San Pietro e Paolo, which has a terrace with a panoramic view. From here, you can see the Sacro Monte di Crea and everything around it.
Leave the village and carry on towards Ottiglio. After about 800 m, take the track on the left to the farmhouses Cascine de Giovanni, then Cascina Boffalora Superiore, which is abandoned and run down. Go down to the tarmac road until the SP 457. Keep an eye out because you will turn right after 200 m. Then, turn off onto a track that takes you to the hamlet of Solito. Carry on along the road that takes you back to the starting point, passing the church of San Quirico on the way. From here, you can see Treville, where the route ends.
